In 2002 he turned his interest to making Documentary films and in August of 2006 completed his first TV documentary On a Wind and a Prayer which was premiered on the History Channel in the U.K. This award winning film retraces the remarkable story of the Japanese Balloon Bomb offensive on the North American continent during WWII.
In early November 2009 Michael White’s latest documentary AZORIAN The Raising of the K-129 was released on DVD. It reveals the most accurate account of the incredible covert operation and partial recovery of the Soviet submarine K-129 by the CIA in August 1974.
In late 2009 Michael White agreed to collaborate with Norman Polmar, internationally known author and analyst, and a consultant to the U.S. Department of Defense and Navy, to write a book about Azorian, including details on the loss of the Soviet submarine K-129 and the political-military aftermath of her partial salvage. The book is PROJECT AZORIAN: THE CIA AND THE RAISING OF THE K-129. The book will be published by the Naval Institute Press and available worldwide in November 2010.
